Pika Simplicity Makes Blogging A Pleasure

The more I use Pika, the more I like:

  1. The post list in the Dashboard (the back end):

    1. It matches the post list on my live site (the front end), so it’s a consistent UI/UX
    2. All my posts are easily accessible. Contrast that to WordPress where my posts were hidden behind pages/clicking, obscured by surrounding metadata, and buried in a sidebar list of links (not easily accessible).
  2. How easy it is to draft, edit, or manage my posts, pages, and blog via the web site - no native app needed. And a standalone markdown editor isn’t needed either.

Pika simplicity continues to delight. WordPress complexity (links and blocks everywhere) made blogging more chore than pleasure. Pika does the opposite; it gets out of the way and lets you just write on the web.

I’ve now migrated (manually, mind you) the first two years of Jason Journals posts from WordPress to Pika. The usability difference is striking. Pika’s ease-of-use that attracted me at first is still impressing me weeks later. The honeymoon might be over, yet my Pika relationship looks like it will stand the test of time.
