During lunch today, I wanted a delicious coffee. I’d planned to hit the Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru but at the lest second turned toward a new-to-me local place: Moose Mountain Coffee.
I’d been meaning to try it. Today was my lucky day. A cold front blew in yesterday and it still felt chilly today with overcast skies. A nice hot coffee would be extra good.
Being new to Moose Mountain, I decided to go with the Caramel Macchiato since it’s a fairly standard latte/espresso type of drink. I’ve had many of them from Starbucks before.
The drive-thru wasn’t crowded. The cashier was friendly with a genuine smile. Service was quick. And then I got the sweet caffeinated 16oz drink.
It was better than expected.
The temperature was perfect; I didn’t need to wait for it to cool at all. Plenty hot. The milk froth was just right. And it was creamy and sweet. I think I would have liked a bit more espresso flavor. Overall, it was a nice warm cup of comfort.
Later, after thoroughly enjoying the Caramel Macchiato, I started to wonder if I could buy my own espresso machine for my house. Would it be expensive? Would making my own be too much trouble? Could I become a coffee aficionado?
One thing is certain: after waiting a while to finally try Moose Mountain Coffee, I was delighted by what I experienced. A simple pleasure, a nice treat, can really make your day. I plan to return and try other caffeine concoctions.
