Happy to say I bought Tiny Glade and began having fun. It’s a steal at $15 on Steam; I’m ready to buy future DLC that might get released. The cozy diorama builder already absorbed a couple hours of my time, which flew by. The fun spilled onto my wife too. She created a Steam account just to buy the game and has played it longer than I have.
The lighting, shadows, and overall art style are beautiful. It has a strong atmosphere. I love that you can walk-through your creation, taking in the scenery as you go. Like hiking a trail in both directions in real life, walking along pathways in Tiny Glade changes with the day/night cycle; how nice it looks varies over time. My laptop’s RTX 3050 ray-tracing capability seems to enhance it all — lovely.
I don’t have a master plan or specific build ideas at the moment. I just started playing and experimenting — it’s a sandbox game after all. Sweet! So for now, I ended up focusing on building a small house on stilts above a small pond. It has a stepped platform leading up to it.
This delightful game will keep me entertained for may more hours to come. I love that it’s open-ended. There’s no time counter, no overarching story to finish, no enemies to fight off…in other words, there’s no stress. This game is, as the first YouTube video that introduced me to it, more like therapy. Yeah, it’s cozy, casual, and relaxing.
There’s even an OST on Apple Music. Nice.
