Two iPhone 13 Pro Refurbs In One Week

Buying refurbished devices can often save you much money and extend the life of “good enough” tech. My oldest son and my wife both did so this past week. This also caps off the recent rare bad refurbs on a high note.

My son, thanks to his own income, upgraded his iPhone 11 to a 13 Pro - silver, 256GB. And my wife moved from her purple 12 mini to the 13 Pro in gold, 256GB.

  • Both ordered from Amazon.

  • Both arrived on time.

  • Both were in the excellent and premium conditions as advertised. Nice!

In fact, my wife's premium renewed iPhone has battery health at 94%, exceeding the 90% minimum.  Both 13 Pros are “like new.” All parts appear to be original or OEM replacements, if any, and are in perfect working order. Cosmetically, they shine. Literally.

This is the refurb iPhone experience I typically enjoy. Last Fall, I ordered an excellent iPhone 12 Pro for myself and had the same results. Pristine, on-time, etc.

All that is in stark contrast to the two other phones I ordered for my wife last Fall from Amazon. First, I struck out with a 13 mini. Then I lost the lottery with a 13 Pro. Getting burned like that, I swore off buying used. I choose to only buy new (which is affordable in the Android market…).

But thanks to my family’s two iPhone refurb success stories this week, renewed is also my faith in the Amazon refurb process. I can again recommend it as a great way to get great tech at a great discount. Thrifty and frugal, win-win.

By the way, the iPhone 13 Pro refurb costs less than the just released iPhone 16e by a large amount. And the 13 Pro has more storage and camera features too. Want a low-cost iPhone? Skip the 16e; get a refurb of almost any other iPhone. Or buy an Android!
